Cordelia, Well, I'm reading my emails backwards for some crazy reason! Just now finding your info on the STEWARTS, and reading the questions about the PRINGLES. Oddly, there was a Francis PRINGLE who was in Sumter Dist., SC, for a very short time who disappeared, and the name James was used also. I am the owner of the PRINGLE rootsweb list and am searching every PRINGLE known to man, all over the globe. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite PRINGLE researchers is in Austin, too. I will write you more on this later. My Pendleton books are compiled works of deeds, wills, etc. Let me see what I can find on your John. He may just be hanging out in some of that info. I agree with you about the "canned" genealogy. I guess I was lucky in the fact that I started this when I was 8 or 10 yrs. old with my grandmothers and can't quit - I'm now 53. More later. I'll see what I can find and get back to you. Godspeed... Dolores Miller Pringle
