    3. W. Albert Dickson, 75, of 602 Highland Park, died Sunday at 10:30 am. At his home after three years of declining health. He was a native of Anderson, a son of the late Joseph and Emma Johnson Dickson. He attended Anderson County Schools and Clemson College. He was a retired textile employee, working at Pelzer and Anderson before retiring in 1955 He later moved to Greenwood where he was connected with Greenwood Specialty Co. He was a mason, Elk and member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Kelly Dickson; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Jones of Atlanta, Mrs. Alberta Odom of Greenville, and Mrs. Joan Cannon of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Mable Orr and Mrs. Elizabeth Riddle of Greenville; two brothers; Monroe Dickson of Atlanta, and I. B. Dickson of Madison, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a. m. at Harley Funeral Home by Rev. James A. Bowers and Rev. Everette Crooks. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Baptist Church cemetery near Williamston. Pallbearers will be R. Doug Cromer, Dr. Carroll Rush, Tom Cox, Orrin Mueller, Marion Ackerman and Alex Roberts. Honorary escort will be James L. Cook, Charlie Herndon, Dr. Carl Bailey, Horace Pitts, Albert Todd, Dee Ellison, Al Brice, Lucius Hammett, Dr. John Kirkland, Dr. Wiley Price and Dr. Mims Mobley. The family requests that flowers be omitted. The body is at the funeral home. Lt. T. 0. Fowler Killed In Action WOODRUFF, Aug. 16Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fowler have been notified that their son, First Lieutenant Thomas 0. Fowler, 22, was killed in action July 25. Lieutenant Fowler attended Wofford College where he was commissioned a second lieutenant just before graduating in 1942. On June 25, 1942 he was called into active service. He landed with the Invasion forces at Safi, French Morocco, on November 8, and was in the battle of EL Guettar where he redirected the fire of his outfit, permitting the withdrawal of a trapped platoon, for which he later received a citation. In the Sicilian campaign he was wounded on the day before the close of the campaign. He was sent to the French front July 16, not being able to enter France on D-Day on account of illness, which necessitated hospitalization. He received a battlefield promotion to first lieutenant. Lieutenant Fowler was a member of the Switzer Baptist church and was assistant superintendent of the Sunday School when inducted into the service. His father, Paul Fowler, is a rural mail carrier of 30 years service and was at one time Grand Master of Royal Select Masons of South Carolina.
