Mrs. Hattie Walker HONFA PATH Mrs. Hattie Morris Walker. 80, dlied at her home at 108 Georgia St. last night. She had been ill two weeks. She was a native of Anderson County and a daughter of the late H. M. and Ida Blackmon Morris. Her husband, W. E. Walker, died in 1937. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church. Survivors include six sons, C. M. Walker, F. A. Walker, and W. F. Walker, all of Honoa Path; the Rev. H. 0. Walker, Walhalla: the Rev. J. H. Walker, Piedmont, and the Rev. J. F. Walker. Lancaster; five daughters, Mrs. Edna Smith, Mrs. Vermelle Thompson, Miss Helen Walker all of Honea Path: Mrs. F. W. Malone.Greenwood, and Mrs. Ruth Gainbrell of Laurens: one sister, Mrs. Jennie Buchanan, Greer; 32 grandchildren, and .36 great grandchildren. Funeral services will he held Friday at 5 p.m. in Chiquola Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ken Joner and Norton Craig. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery Active pallbearers are Joe Myers Jr., Robert McCoy, Fied Knox, T. B. Kerr, Thomas Jones and Alvin Culberson. The honorary escort will he members of the WMU, Ladies Adult Sunday School Class and the Eastern Star. The body is at the home. The Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge. August 15, 1955 Countian Auto VICTIM Miss Dancie Ellis of Edgefield was killed in a wreck in Aiken County Monday was a former resident of Williamston where her grandparents still live. Funeral rites for the 19 year old victim were held in Edgefield yesterday, followed by graveside services at Williamston cemetery She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ellis, granddaughter of Mrs. W. T. Turner and S. M. Ellis. Pvt. R. C. King 32nd Anderson Casualty (1944) Pvt. R. C. King Killed is killed in action Pvt. Robert Calhoun King, 20 was killed in action against the Germans in Italy on January 8, according to a telegram received by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Julius King 316 East Benson Street, from the War Department. Pvt. King, who had been in the Army nine months, was with General Mark Clark's Fifth Army. He had been overseas four months after undergoing infantry training at Camp Wheeler, GA. In his last letter home dated January 3, he informed his parents that he had never been in battle, but expected to go shortly. In addition to his parents, Pvt. King is survived by his wife, the former Miss Frances Whitfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Whitfield of Townville. Two brothers are also in service: Pharmacist Mate Worley M. King, U. S. Navy, who has been in the Navy four years was wounded in Guadalcanal. Seaman Second Class William King is also in the Navy, having enlisted five months ago. He is stationed at Norfolk, VA
