It seems I have all the names of early Anderson County, SC in my family... however I also have a few brick walls I need help with! **All my info has come from family bibles. Jonathan McCLELLAN Sr. is my GGG Grandfather. My Main question is: Does anyone have ANY info on the parents or siblings of Jonathan Dial MCCLELLAN (Sr.)dob unknown and place unknown. We can find absolutely nothing on him... it's like he came out of the woodwork!! Also any info on his middle name of DIAL might help also! Jonathan Sr. Married to Amanda ROGERS (b)June 7, 1835, died Aug 10, 1890 and she is buried at Big Creek Baptist Church near Williamston, SC. They lived for awhile in Pelzer, SC. (I also know that Amanda ROGERS mother was Patsy HALLS (b) Nov 5, 1809 (d) Feb 16, 1890 ) Jonathan Sr. & Amanda had 5 known children: Miss Mary MCCLELLAN Elizabeth MCCLELLAN (McNealey) Louanna MCCLELLAN (Simpson)(b) Aug 1, 1861 (d) Feb 29, 1956 Jonathan Dial MCCLELLAN Jr. Julia MCCLELLAN (Clark) **Nothing is known of Mary or Elizabeth other than their names. Jonathan MCCLELLAN Jr. (b) May 5, 1867?, (d) April 14, 1948 Married Minnie GAMBRELL on Jan 27, 1889. Minnie was born on March 30, 1867, and died on July 1, 1908 after having 11+ children. I know Minnie had a sister named Emma GAMBRELL (Vaughn). Minnie's parents were J.C. Gambrell & Annie CUMMINGS (Gambrell). I know Annie CUMMINGS was the daughter of William Cummings and Sara HUNT (Cummings).
