I am a descendent of a Samual McGill who was in Anderson County in 1790 and was from Ireland (Evidence points that he arrived in Charleston in 1766). My grandfather is descended from Samuel and was named Augustus "Gus" Hudgens McGill. He was a member of Union Baptist Chuch of Iva, SC. I know little about his background other than he had a several siblings and step-siblings and he married Louise Pettigrew. I would have attended the reunion had I known about it.
