He and family came from Anson/ Richmond,/Montgomery Counties, North Carolina. Seek exchange with other researchers about sources, migration patterns, family groups,etc. His family was composed of son John, daughters Margaret & Peggy. Wife was Mary Ripley. This family moved on to Hardin County, Kentucky by 1799, where Charles Travis was a Capt. in the Kentucky Militia. (Supposedly an officer in the North Carolina Militia also (1795). Settled on "23 Creek" on Keowee River. Did the geography of the area change with the building of Lake Keowee? ANY and All help appreciated! New to research in the Golden Corner area
