Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2584 Message Board Post: I am looking for information about Doc Welborn and his family living in Anderson. He was married to Airie Elkin and she was born in 1879. I would imagine that he was born about the same time. They had 4 children that I know of: Ray, Lloyd, Roy and Lee. According to Airie's obituary in 1955 Ray and Lee were living in Ashville, N.C. Any help with this family would be appreciated. Thank you. Gail

    3. Dear Welborn descendant, My grandmother was a Welborn from Pickens. I don't have a Welborn genealogy book but there are some there to be had. My records just show connections in Pickens, Aaron, William Elbert, and Judge Major and a few in Anderson County. The two families I knew in Anderson Co., SC were Byron Welborn and Hugh Welborn's Family. They are buried at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Anderson Co along with a bunch of other Welborn families. Keyes Gentry is the caretaker of the "Plat" book at the Lebanon Baptist Church. Secona Baptist and Pickens Baptist Church were the churches where the Pickens Welborns went to church. A few bits of information. Some Welborn's first came into the Williamston area of Anderson Co. Others into Pickens Co area. I was raised in the Lebanon Community of Anderson County and there were two families of Welborn's there. I would suggest that you get someone to search the Anderson County Library, the Pendleton Historical Commission (on the Square in Pendleton), the Pickens and Greenville County Libraries for a Welborn genealogy book. A search of the SC Archives On-Line records show the Anderson and Pickens Welborn families and a group in Hamburg, SC. I didn't see any connection to who you are searching for so the above depositories are a good start. Good hunting. 3. Hi, Some of my kinfolk married into the Welborn lines. The farthest back I have is Aaron H.Welborn 1884-1950 (buried in Hartwell, Ga). Have lots of info on his descendants. Anyone have some more on Aaron's parents? Thanks! I will be glad to share with what I have on him and his descendants.
