Hi, what do you believe his birth year to be? I noticed your post because of the BROWN name. I descend from a Spencer C BROWN who had a son by the name of Newton Davis BROWN, but his dates don't seem to match the time frame noted. I have found another Newton BROWNE that is listed as being born in 1824 Anderson Co. SC and who died in 1875, he was the son of Elijah Browne and Millie or Minnie Brown. He was married to Rebecca Ward, fought in Orr's Rifles, died in Civil War of disease. I don't know where he moved to Oconee from, and would appreciate any info anyone has on Newton or Rebecca. They were my gggrandparents. They had three children that I know of: Manda, Thomas A. and another boy I believe. Thank you! Hi Debbie, Thank you for you response. I believe that he was born in the 1830's. I know that he was killed in the War.
