    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hall / Sloan / Bomar / Esnard / Puig / Malga / Triest Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2352 Message Board Post: I have been investigating the family of W. P. Hall who was in Charleston and Pendleton, South Carolina, during the U. S. Civil War. He was associated with Hall & Co. The 1880 census shows him, wife "S" and children and nephews, niece and servants in Charleston. I am trying to find out as much as I can about Hall and Co. and the various persons (relationships, etc.) in photocopies of letters that I have. Surnames include: Sloan, Esnard, Triest, Bomar, Triest, Puig, Malga among others (but these are the most predominant). The 1880 census says that W. P. Hall was born in Cuba as was his father. It also says that his wife "S" was born in Georgia, his father in Cuba and his mother in Georgia. Can anyone help me or tell me where to go to find more info on this family with Spanish and Cuban connections????? I have made some progress on tying these families together: Examples: W. P. Hall (b. 1825 d. 1883) married Susan Sloan, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Sloan. Their daughter Felicia Hall married William Bachman Chisolm. George Washington Bomar married Emily C. Sloan, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Sloan. Paul H. E. Sloan and John B. E. Sloan were sons of Benjamin Franklin Sloan. One Peter Esnard married Ann Hall in Chatham County, Georgia (in 1858?). Would like to know if this Ann Hall is related in some way to W. P. Hall (perhaps a sister?). As all this seems to be tying together, Emily C., Susan, John B. E., and Paul H. E. Sloan were brothers and sisters. If anyone has information on the Sloans and how the Hall family ties in with them, I would appreciate some leads! Thanks very much. Terry Mount
