I find that those records are in Anderson County court house. I also heard from one source that those old books may be in the library there in Anderson County. I have a deed (Pendleton District, SC) made between Absalom Fares and Daniel Philips, both of Pendleton Dist., SC. In this deed Absalom Fares conveys 100 acres "situate and lying on Shoal Creek... on Hunt's land.... corner between Saml Looper & Daniel Philips.. corner between Smith & Philips..." This deed dated 5th December 1815 or 1816 (hard to read on the old handwritten document). Daniel Looper proved the deed on 17 February 1816(?). What I need is the conveyance to Absalom Fares, which was before 1815. Also, I need the conveyance of this property from Daniel Philips to whoever he sold it to, which, I believe, was before 1820, as I find him in NC in 1820 census. However, he may not have sold it until after he moved.
