    3. For those interested in DNA there is quite a good article in this months issue of Family Chronicles found in the magazine racks at Barnes and Noble Bookstores. S. C. Meates' article "Taking a Y-DNA Test, What Can be Expected" contains a lot of useful information that explains the pitfall of 12 marker only testing and explains in an excellent manner what 37+ marker testing provides in separating out family members. Meates' illustrates the short falls of initial 12 marker testing and documents the necessity in this approach of searching the Y-Base, Y search and SMGF (12-18 marker search bases) usage to try an connect to a surname which not often matches to your desired surname. Overall an excellent article to bring you up to speed and he labors hard to show what is necessary to know when doing Y-DNA testing. God Bless.
