Sanford Vandiver "Van" Vaughan was b. Feb 1938, Pickens Dist., SC; d. 6 Jan 1862 Richmond Hospital, Richmond, VA. He had a furlough home and Harriett became pregnant. Van wrote home to ask if it was a boy could he be named for an Army buddy......Raymond Alley. Of course, this is what happened. Van never saw his son. Raymond married and had several children. Most of his descendants were in Pell City, St. Clair, AL. Shirley
