    3. Pat, I am interested in the Fowlers in Anderson Co. SC too. I live in Anderson and my Fowlers moved here in early 1900s from Jackson Co. NC but they were in Oconee Co SC before that. I have some info on some Fowlers that were in Anderson Co. in late 1800s and early 1900s but can't seem to connect them to mine. Of course these were in Cherokee Co. GA before that and then in SC before that so you see these folks traveled around. He is listed in the 1840 Anderson Co SC census p116 males 1 (5-10), 1 (10-15), 1 (15-20) 1 (70-80), females 1 (20-30) 1 (60-70). In the 1850 census, he is listed in Anderson Co SC p202, Benoni Fowler 86 M SC, and Betsey 82 F SC. In the 1860 census he is listed in Anderson Co SC age 102, looks like Tenn and maybe SC written thru it. He is a pauper and paralytic. Living with him is Burrell Carpenter 75 M NC, William Leavell 15 m. They are both listed as paupers. I would like to know the names of his children. I have a William B. Fowler b 1796 in SC. He named one of his children Benoni Fowler. William was in the 1820 Pendleton Co SC 208, 1830 Anderson Co SC 115, 1840 Edgefield Co SC 126, 1850 Edgefield Co SC 153, then moved to Calhoun Co AL by 1860. He must have died before 1880. I would apprciate any help on this family. I have an Archibald FOWLER who died 1839, Greenville Dist., SC, and have not completely ever been able to prove his parentage. This Benoni always seems to be out there on his own also, and I have thought that they might poss. be brothers????? You search and search...and then, you grab at straws!
