Surnames: EVANS, VANCE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2318 Message Board Post: I am named after Joe Evans, who was my grandfather and who may have died in the 1920s. Not sure about that. However he and his wife Mary Vance of Abbeville were parents of John(my father) born in 1896; Ike Evans, and Jessie Evans. He married two other women after being married to Mary. The children are deceased as of now, with Ike the last one of the three. He died in the 1990s. Yet, I cannot find descendants of this family of Evans who are African American, and I need to do so because I am working on a family tree and need to find them so I know them. Thank you Joseph
