Kim, The censes taker ditto............all of the others. whenever a person didn't have an occupation he just did a ditto.........thats the way it seems if you look at the rest of them. So, looks as if Howell died before 1870...........do you have record of his death? Now we have him in 1850 Census of Wayne County,TN., with two daughters, by first marriage. 1860 Census shows he is married to Lucinda Whitt. 1870 Census he is deceased. 1880 Census shows she is a widow.
