    3. Herb, thanks. It's possible that all the COXES in Anderson County were related, but I am beginning to doubt this. Most of the ones found in the 1830-1850 census lived in the "eastern" division. Mine were in the "western" division. I have copies of several wills of COXES, but nothing in any of them matches my Beverly (1793-1878). By the way, all Anderson County researchers. In the 1840 census found on Ancestry.com all of Anderson and Abbeville are indexed under Charleston. I have sent several messages to Ancestry asking them to please correct this. But nothing has been done. Has anyone else noticed this? However there is a mention of a Beverly Cox connected to a William Cox (plus numerous Cox families) in Pauline Young's Abstracts of Old 96th and Abbeville District Will and Bonds. SC rRchives also has numerous Cox wills, etc. Herb Hendricks Retired NASA Physicist Herb_316@MSN.com<mailto:Herb_316@MSN.com> 1210 Long Meadow DR Lynchburg, VA 24502 434 832 7246 Major/Smith/Hendricks http://www.familytreedna.com/public/hendrickson/<http://www.familytreednacom /public/hendrickson/> ----- Original Message ----- From: Martha Boggs<mailto:lmboggs@cox.net> To: SCANDERS-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:SCANDERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 03, 2005 5:44 PM Subject: [SCAnderson] Cox family of Anderson County With so many people with this surname in Anderson, it has been almost impossible to find out which ones belong to me. I am looking for ancestors and descendants of Beverly COX, who was born there about 1793. He was married first to Celia JOHNSTON/JOHNSON and had six children. After her death he married Sarah Ann MARTIN, and they had three children. Beverly served in the War of 1812, and I have his complete file. What I most want to know is Who were the children of the first marriage? Any leads or help will be greatly appreciated. 3. Ancestry.com has a mess with the obits. If you live in Anderson, SC, and your death is posted in the Anderson Independent or Greenville newspapers, your last name comes up under Anderson. Other places have errors also. I've reported this three times, and the answers I got were they knew about it, but another company put the obits online for them, and it would take some time to correct. This tid bit of news will help those of you who are looking for family who's death is in these newspapers. Before you give up trying to find them, put in last name of Anderson. Hope this helps, Jo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Martha Boggs" <lmboggs@cox.net> To: <SCANDERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 06, 2005 12:21 AM Subject: RE: [SCAnderson] Cox family of Anderson County > Herb, thanks.
