    2. I research many lines in Anderson Co. but my Patterson line comes from Madison County, Georgia back to Union County, Georgia. But I do believe that back in the early 1800's they came through South Carolina. Any way this is to explain why I always copy any PATTERSON obit that I see. And happen to have these. BTW, I am also researching EDMONDS (from Winnie's obit) . . . but I don't believe I've connected to the EDMONDS that was in Toccoa in these years. My EDMONDS line came from NC to Towns Co. then Rabun Co. then Madison Co., GA Anderson Independent, Tuesday, Sep 19, 1967 L. T. Patterson L. T. Patterson, 62, of 460 Williamston Road, died at 9 a.m. Monday in the Anderson Hospital after an illness of five days. Mr. Patterson, a native of Georgia, was born Jan 23, 1905, a son of the late Jack and Ella Adams Patterson. He spent most of his life in Anderson and was a retired mechanic. Survivors: His widow, Mrs Winnie Lou Mills Patterson; three sons, Marvin, Melvin and Charles Patterson of Anderson; two daughters, Mrs. Martha McAlister, and Mrs. Miriam Deanhardt of Anderson; five brothers, Bunyon of Georgetown, Dennis of Columbia, J. B. Patterson of Hartwell, Luther Patterson of Anderson and James Patterson of Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Gilreath of Anderson and Mrs. Mary Ellis of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren and two great granchildren. Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at the McDuffie Street Church of God, the Revs. W. E. Dowdy, Jesse Boyd and Doyle Cobb officiating. Burial will be in New Silver Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers: Roy Fields, Floyd Fields, Toby Griffin, Haskel Mann, Harold Patterson, and Charles Gilreath. The body is at the McDougald Funeral Home, the family at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Miriam Denhardt, 2502 Fleming Drive. and this one: Anderson Independent, Saturday, Jan 19, 1991 Mrs. Winnie Lou Ward Mrs. Winnie Lou Patterson Ward, 82, of Anderson, widow of James Ward, Sr., died Friday, Jan 18, 1991, at Ellenburg Nursing Center. Born in Toccoa, Ga., she was a daughter of the late W. H. and Basheby Edmonds Mills. She was a homemaker and a member of McDuffie Street Church of God for over 40 years. She was twice married, first to the late L. T. Patterson. Surviving are sons, Marvin, Melvin, and Charles Patterson of Anderson; daughters, Martha McAlister and Miriam Deanhardt of Anderson; stepsons, Leroy and Joe Ward f Greenwood, Jerry Ward of Shoals Junction; stepdaughters, Sara Franklin and Annie Mae Ferrin of Greenwood, Clara Williams of Leesville and Mary Sutherland of Anderson; sister, Mrs. Cornelia Griffin of Anderson; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 40 step granchildren; 23 step great-grandchildren. Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at McDuffie Street Church of God by the REv. Sam Crisp. Burial in New Silver Brook Cemetery. The body is at the McDougald Fuineral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. Saturday. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. the family is at thehome of her son, Marvin Patterson, 304 Nelson Drive, Anderson.
