    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Dickinson, Robinson, Alford, Forbes--- Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2333.1 Message Board Post: Mr. Jones: I am quite interested in the Dickinson (variant spellings) family of Anderson District who seem to have come there from Moore County, N.C. I just recently discovered information of this sort on the Mormon site what with a string of Robert Dickinsons back to 1700. I notice the Robert Dickinson who was apparently the father of my Robert Dickinson was married to a Rebecca Jones. My Robert Dickinson was born ca 1811 and married Mary Emily Robinson. Their son Ephraim Robinson Dickinson who was born 1844 Anderson District, married Sarah Ann Elizabeth Alford 1866 Hart County, GA, moved to Prentiss County, Mississippi ca 1869. There they bore and reared a quite large family including my grandmother Daisy Dickinson b. 1877 and died 1957 same county. I knew her and her sister Ivy and brother Carl very well. The eldest brother Charles Robert Dickinson had moved from MS to Deming, NM about 1906 or so and reared a good sized family there. I am in touch with one of his great-grand daughters, Judy Keeler. Are we singing out of the same hymnal as far as Dickinsons go? I would very much like to correspond with you on these and related SC families. E.R. Dickinson had a slightly older brother Willis A. Dickinson. They were enumerated together in the 1880 Census, Prentiss County, (Under the spelling "Dickerson")MS. Both men fought in the CW in the 37th Battallion, Virginia Cavalry, Company B. and were parolled at Appomattox Courthouse in 1865. Very truly yours, John O. Bronson
