    1. [SCAnderson] Re: Matthews & Dickinson Pendleton Dist 1800-1820
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2333.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear John: We are definitely "singing out of the same Hymnal", and strange that you would say that because this Dickinson/Dickerson family has more Methodist Preachers in it than my Matthews family, and that's a bunch! However, I must caution you that much information on the LDS Site (and others) is not accurate, has not been verified, or is just plain wrong, and you must be very careful not to get started down a wrong path. I am in the midst of trying to untangle the Dickinsons without very much success, which is why I posted the Query. I have run across the Internet information of Robert who married Rebecca Jones before, and as far as I know this Rebecca's only husband was Rev. Willis Dickinson (Dickerson), born 1781 in Moore County NC. Their children, as shown on the 1850 Benton (Calhoun) Co. AL Census were : Rachel, b. 1814, SC; Andrew, b. 1819 in SC; Nancy A. b. 1822, SC; Lucinda "Sally" b. 1825 SC (married a Keith); Maria (Mariah?), b. 1828; Lewis b. 1832. Rev. Willis may have had sons William and Robert who had left home. Another Willis is known to have gone to MS. He married Elizabeth Ledbetter in MS in 1815. I would like to help you as much as I can on the Original Moor! e County family with what I know about the family as they migrated, but with the understanding that I need to stick to unravelling my problem. Lets continue this "off forum" if you don't mind. contact me first at [email protected], and we will go from there. regards, F. C. Jones
