Seems like my mother told me that a Carter cousin told her Fenton Hall was related to Lyman Hall of Georgia who signed the Declaration of Independence. Fenton and Mary were living next door to some Carters in the 1880 census in Pulaski, Oconee Co, SC. Mary Victoriene Hall b.1850 d.1924 apparently married David F. Carter and they were living next door to Fenton Houston Hall and Mary Price Hall in 1880. I am not sure the exact connection between Fenton H. and Lyman Hall. I also am not sure, but think that Mary V Hall was Fenton H Hall and Mary Price Hall's granddaughter through their son Pennuel J. Hall and wife Etter. You should check these things out, but this is what I remember being told (and my memory is not wonderful sometimes) and have found at Damascus Church. Fenton's wife is listed as Polly in the cemetery.
