Don't know if this will help you but there was a John Evans, lived in Pendleton and ran a pharmacy in Pendleton about the time period and later that you mentioned. He had sons named John and Harry. John ran the pharmacy after his father and he is retired along with Harry now. Don't know to much else about the family but the sons still live in Pendleton, Harry is in his 70s. They are well known in the Pendleton area. I believe their family history is on file at the Pendleton Historical Commission "on the square" in Pendleton.
