I am trying to locate the records of a Justice of Peace Shelton/Sheldon who performed the marriage ceremony my Grandfather, Winfield Tillman Carroll and my Grandmother, Cora Louise Jaynes on February 19, 1912. I only have her Bible record with this bit of information along with the witnesses named - who were "Heller" cousins of my grandfather. Not sure if they were married in Oconee/Anderson or Picken's County, SC. In 1912, would there have been an application for the license?? Any help will be appreciated. Vivian cpvp@aol.com
