(See the History of Anderson Book) then I'll tell you much more. Yes, I know the Junkin family was in Anderson. I have acquired a lot on the Cummins family as I've researched my Dean family. I also have a lot on the James family (Gwendolyn m. Samuel Dean and Mary m. Harmon Cummins). The Vandiver book gives a lot of good info but like everything else, facts given 2nd(3rd)hand, "that's not quite the whole story". Yes, much more of the Dean family remained in Anderson County that Mrs. Vandiver indicated. After all they even had a small town of them. Dean Station. Your Harmon Cummins lived to be quite old and many of his children remained in Anderson in the 1800's. Contact me if you're interested in Deans.
