I have a Zachariah Cooper married to Mary Quinn in SC...Sorry don't know what county . Their children were: Pincney Henry, Margaret N. , Nancy A., Ruthy C., and Lucinda. I am trying to find a Vashti Quinn and her parents. I believe they are from AL. Bernice Hope Doyle
I am looking for information on Ella Cooper, she was born in Dalton,Ga in 1853. she first married Charles H. Dawn and he was killed in 1879 in Dalton,Ga at his job while working for the railroad. Ella was the daughter of Leonard Nelson Tinsley and Nancy Jane May. She was in the census sometimes as Lovinia E. Tinsley, then when she married she was shown as Lovinia E.Dawn and then in the 1910 Anderson County,S C census records she is shown as Ella Cooper, she married a Cooper about 1880. In this census she is shown with her son Leonard E.Dawn living with her, and to again be a widow.
My Great-great-gramdfather, John T. Morgan, was born 2/4/1807 in SC and died 5/31/1883 in Dark Corner Township, Anderson County. He married first: Mary Katherine Keown, second: Rebecca Ann Barnes Kelley, widow of William Kelley. John and Rebecca's children were: William Thomas; John Henry; Wesley Barnes; and Nancy Jane (Hall). John T. and wife Rebecca are buried at Union Baptist Cemetery. John T.'s brother was Thomas Morgan 1817 - 4/3/1871, married to Sarah Lucretia Keown, sister to John's first wife. They were the daughters of a Robert Keown and Sarah Barnes Martin Keown of Diamond Mineral Springs. A Diana Morgan, born c. 1767, lived with Thomas and his family as an old, old lady (listed in their household in the 1850 and 1860 censuses). She is too elderly to have been John and Thomas's mother, but could have been their grandmother. Any help with these Morgans would be greatly appreciated! Rebecca Akins
My gggrandmother Permelia W. Gilmer, born c. 1817, married John Seigler (born c. 1794/1800? - died after 1880 in SC) probably around 1839-40. A Martha Gilmer, born c. 1787, was listed in the household with them in 1870 and must have been her mother. The family lived in Dark Corners Township, Moffitsville Post Office, Anderson County, and was recorded in the census from 1850 to 1880. John Seigler was born in Germany, according to the information given on the death certificate of his youngest son and according to family legend. I know nothing about Permelia's Gilmer family except that Martha, who lived with the Seiglers in 1870, may have been the Martha living with a Washington Gilmer family, next to a Harvey Gilmer family, in 1850. Martha's ages would have been correct if this were so. Washington and Harvey were the right ages to have been siblings of Permelia. After 1850, Harvey and Washington and their families are gone from Anderson County, and I've not had any luck finding them anywhere else. Any information about the Gilmer and Seigler families would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know where I could obtain a copy of this book? I was planning to purchase it from Abbeville Books, but they are closed and are not reopening. The owners are retiring. D. A. Blakemore

The Old Concord Cemetery is on the northwest side of Concord Rd at Cherokee Cir. across the road from the large Baptist Church just north of Anderson. The cemetery is in sad neglect, and grown up with trees. Park on Cherokee and walk in as best you can. The Moorhead graves are taken care of by some one. Jim McConnell
