Posted on: Anderson County, SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Anderson/1476 Surname: ------------------------- There is no record, to the best of my knowledge, of any Indians living in the area. The Indians were long gone from the Pendleton District by the time white settlers came (1784).
Hi, I also have Catherine Milford and Andrew Cunningham in my database. I am descended from Catherine's grandparents, Robert and Margaret Mitchell Milford through two of their sons, Thomas and John. I have a little information on Catherine's family, if you would like to compare notes. Also, I am interested in the McKee connection. Do your records show any connection between the McKee family and a Simpson family? I am trying to prove (or disprove) that my Thomas Simpson, b. ca 1810, married first to Mary Ann McKee. I know that all of these people were neighbors. Bunnie Gilmer

Deason, My gg-grandfather William H. Stephenson was born in 1817 in the Anderson District of SC., according to his Civil War Records. The Anderson District didn't form until about the 1820s so it is assumed that he was born somewhere in one of the three counties that form from the Anderson District. His parents are James and Margaret Stephenson. Would you please check and see if any of these people appear in the book, Gone to Georgia. Thanks very much. Charles R. Hi, Chuck! Which Owens line are you related to? I have been (with not much luck) trying to find my 3rd-GreatGrandfather's line in 1840 - 1850 South Carolina. I know that the person he married and her family were always in either (1st) Anderson and then (2nd) Greenville Counties. Her name was Eliza Hollingsworth. His name is James Perry Owens, and I just draw a blank when I try to find him with his family on the 1850 South Carolina census. So, I was just wondering which line is yours.
