William H. Stephenson appears on the 1830 Anderson County Census. Other possible family members appearing on adjacent pages of the census are James and Jane (William's parents), Moses and Samuel M. (William's brothers). This same family group does not appear on the 1840 census of Anderson County. Where did they go? Would appreciate any information on any of the above people. Charles R. Stephenson San Antonio, Texas
Posted on: Anderson County, SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Anderson/1498 Surname: Scott, Edwards, Giles, Freeman, Taylor ------------------------- Your Willis Washington Scott, of Anderson Co., was the grandson of Lawson and Martha Patsy (Taylor)Scott, through their son Jesse W. Scott. I descend from Lawson through his son James Lafayette Scott. Willis had daughters, Eula and Pearl. There were probably more, according to your copy of the obituary. Eula, b.23 Aug 1889 - d. 01 Apr 1953, married John Lawrence Caudle. Pearl, b. 1887 - d. 1922, married Victor Emanuel Caudle. Pearl died the year before her father, so that must be why she wasn't mentioned. I do not know who the other children are. If you find out, I'd love to know.
