    3. Posted on: Anderson County, SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Anderson/1611 Surname: Rice, Wilhite ------------------------- I have a Leon Leftwich Rice (1885-1966) married to Sarah Wilhite (1890-1968) buried in Anderson SC. It appears they have two children buried with them: Leon Leftwich Rice Jr (1912-1987) and Mary Louise Rice (1922-1967). Are these Rice's part of your Hezekiah Rice lineage?? I notice that Hezekiah Rice's wife's name is Leftwich. This looks like a possibility given the use of Leon's middle name as Leftwich.

    2. James F McConnell
    3. A. Deacon Smith Glad to hear from you. Nothing leaps out as a connection with my MCCONNELL's. My ancestor Thomas MCCONNELL, came to Pendelton District in 1823 from Newberry District. At some point in the 1830's and 1840's, they bought land in the Concord and Hopewell areas of Anderson County. A second William MCCONNELL family I am aware of come from Newberry in the early 1800's to Savannah Twp. These families are not descendant from the same family as far as I know, but did intermarry in one instance. Members of both families moved into northeastern Georgia. This is interesting, in that I had not identified another MCCONNELL family in Anderson in the 1830's Jim McConnell
