    1. [SCANDERS] 1790 census
    2. Hilda Jones
    3. Hi to the list: I am new to this list, and hoping to get some help from someone who understands the 1790 census in the Pendleton Dist. It states that Elisha GARLIN (GARLAND) and Jesse GARLIN (GARLAND) which were brothers ( I think) was in the area at this time. SNDX -------L. name------F. name------nars-------str1---- pg#-----family grp.------------ twp G645---------Garlin---------Elisha---------m637-----033----081-------01-00-06-00-00-----no listed G645---------Garlin---------Jesse----------m637----033-----081-------01-01-04-00-00-----no listed Questions: As you can see the census say the same on both except first name and family grp. does this mean they were living in same household, did they have to own land to be in this census? Is there anyway to tell which Co. they would be in after the division of Pendleton Dist.? Last but not least could someone tell me the meaning of each number listed under family grp. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN GIVE!!!!!! Hilda (GARLAND) Jones ajhj@apex.net

    2. My name is Betty Alleman. My maternal line includes the King family starting with Robert I and Elizabeth , parents of Robert II. I also have Hannah, sister of Robert King III (Uncle Bobby) married to a Glover from Alabama. I am trying to settle the family of John Daniel , Born 1813, who married Hannah Richardson. He was Robert 3rd's first son. He is my Great-great-grandfather. On his tombstone in the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in Piedmont, is "Col. John D., b.8 Jan 1813, d.30 Nov 1879. I have not been able to find his Civil War records. My mother joined the Daughters of the Confederacy on the record of her great uncle - Van Buren King - who was in Company D , Hampton Legion, SC. But Colonel John Daniel's service I cannot find. John Daniel's son, John Tindal , b.1854, d.1909, married Hannah Taff. He was a cabinetmaker. Their daughter Sarah Jane is my grandmother. I have lists of hundreds of Kings, but John D and John T and family are not yet clear. Betty Alleman
