Do you have any connections to George D. KING, 1820-1854, son of Peter KING 1770-1870, son of Robert KING 1756-1826. Jim McConnell >> Jim, to be honest, I don't know. I don't know Dorcas King's family, only that she was born ca. 1807 and was married in 1823 while still a girl. Her husband, Alfred Moore, was 7-8 years older than she. But the Moore family was from Anderson, I would assume Dorcas' family was nearby, so this is a strong possibility. Their children were: Joseph Abner (Alfred's son), Sarah Anna, Julius Langdon, John David, Paul and Peter (twins, I think), Willis Harrison, Clifford Lewis, Alfred Jr., George, and Tyler Henry. Alfred & Dorcas lived at "Five Mile" in Pickens late in life. Maybe you will recognize some family names -- Patti in VA

Can anyone tell me about Big Creek Cemetery? I've not been able to locate it? Is there a Church connected to the graveyard? All I see is "Big Creek" on the map northwest of Williamston but am not sure if that's a community, a creek, or what? Seeking William Kelly supposedly buried at Big Creek Cemetery, 1841, in an unmarked grave. Appreciate any clues. Fran Bay tbay@columbus.rr.com

Wanting to know if anyone out there is connected to this family line. I have found several cousins in the past, and would like to continue fidning family members. My husband's granfather was Frank Dewitt SIMPSON (1903-1993), and he was married to a Vergil Elmina (EVANS) SIMPSON (1900-1972). Frank's parents were James RAMPEY (who was never married to Dora SIMPSON, but they had two children together), and Dora SIMPSON (1883-1907). Dora's parents were Michael Pinckney SIMPSON (1851- 1928) and Mary Jane (MCKEE) SIMPSON (1843- 1914). Michael's parents were Matthew SIMPSON (~1824-) and a Maria C. SIMPSON (~1824- before 1860 but after 1851). Mary's parents were James MCKEE (1810- 1895) and Sarah (CUNNINGHAM) MCKEE (1810-1885). Sarah's parents were Francis CUNNINGHAM and Rachel (MAY) CUNNINGHAM. Rachel's parents were Daniel MAY (~1777- 1853) and Polly MAY. Daniel's parents were William MAY (~1747-1832) and Lucy (THOMAS) MAY. Most of the more recent ancestors lived in the Iva area, or Lowdesville area, while some of the others lived in GA, and NC. Hope someone can connect. God Bless you, Cindy Snyder
OK, I have not posted in a while, and I am going to run down a few ancestors to see if anyone has some common ground. My husband's grandmother was Vergil Elmina (EVANS) SIMPSON (1900-1972), and was married to Frank Dewitt SIMPSON (1903-1993). Vergil's parents were Albert Bennett EVANS (1859-1916) and Essie Ellis (ADAMS) EVANS (1865-1958). Albert's parents were Willis EVANS (1816/1825-1904) and Nancy Ann (HARRIS) EVANS (1867-1950). Essie's parents were John Quincey ADAMS and Sarah (TODD) ADAMS (1839-1912). Sarah's parents were Andrew TODD (1803-) and Rebecca TODD (1803-). Most all of these lived in the Iva area. Can anyone identify these people or connect with the line? God Bless you, Cindy Snyder
