Posted on: Anderson County, SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Anderson/2006 Surname: KELLY ------------------------- I am looking for information on Alice Missouri Kelly, daughter of Jasper Kelly from Anderson, SC. We believe Alice moved from Anderson, SC to Georgia in early 1900. Jasper Kelly's father was John Kelly. John Kelly is listed on the 7th Census 1815, Microfish #432, Roll 848. We believe that Jasper Kelly was the first child of John and Sarah Kelly. Jasper Kelly's daughter was Alice Missouri Kelly. Alice married Duncan Owens in December 1872. Any information is appreciated.
Could anyone tell me if the family of THOMAS FIELDS, wife Narcissa appear on the 1870 Anderson Co., census? Thomas would be around 49 years of age, born in Georgia. Children: William, John, James, Robert, Horatio and Franklin. Thanks. Jackie
-------- Original Message -------- Subject: {not a subscriber} WILLSON, John D. (Rev.) & Charles P. Date: Sat, 10 Feb 2001 13:39:52 -0800 From: "DMPringle" <DMPringle@sc.rr.com> To: <WILSON-L@rootsweb.com>, <SCPICKEN-L@rootsweb.com>,<SC-Genealogy-L@rootsweb.com>, <SCANDERS-L@rootsweb.com>,<SC-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> References: <00a701c09326$a12d1320$218c23cf@oemcomputer> Here's my WILSON query: Rev. John Dowling WILSON/WILLSON (1827-1900) was the son of Charles P. WILLSON, Jr. and Martha "Patsie" JOHNSON, both of whom were born about 1804 and 1807. I believe that Patsie, at least, died in Greenville, SC, but I have some info that they both came fr. GA to SC - a bit unusual at that time. (Only later in life was his name spelled WILSON.) This Charles P. WILLSON, Jr. was the son of Charles P. WILLSON, Sr.(b. ~1747, Ireland) and Polly or Patsy PETTIGREW, b. ~1755. Charles received a pension for ARW service that started in 1821 when he was 79 yrs. old which would have made his birth date 1742. I have no other children for this couple except Charles P. WILLSON, Jr. The only other info I have on Charles P. WILLSON, Jr. and Martha JOHNSON are their children: John Dowling WILLSON, b 1827 Nancy Adeline WILLSON, b 1833 Mary Elizabeth WILLSON, b 1835 Lucy Ann WILLSON, b 1837 Robert WILLSON, b 1839 Sally Ann WILLSON, b 1841 Martha Jane WILLSON, b 1843 Some of these children were in Pickens Co. and some in Anderson Co., SC. At least the first few of the children were born in GA. I have seen several marriages listed that John Dowling WILLSON performed in Pickens Co., and I know that he and his wife, Susana SHERIFF, are buried in Central, Pickens Co., SC. I would love any info on this family and will gladly share what info I have on them. Thank you! Godspeed... Dolores M. Pringle

Posted on: Anderson County, SC Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Anderson/2001 Surname: Major ------------------------- Hi Jim, I saw your posting from October 15, 2000, and the name of Elijah Major caught my eye. I can't tell you anything about the location of McAdoo Creek, but I do know something about the Major families of the area. My ggg Grandfather was Daniel Major, d.1819. his oldest son was Elijah Major, 1802 - 1855. His 2nd son, James, 1804 - 1861, was my gg Grandfather. There were several Elijah Majors in the area: The one we call the Old Elijah, Elijah, son of Epps Major, and my Elijah. Do you happen to know which Elijah was selling the property? I have quite a bit of info from my Daniel forward, but have not been able to tie him to any of the other Major families of the area. I am sure there is a connection, but have not been able to establish it, yet. From which Major family do you descend? I will look forward to hearing from you.
Harold , I tried to find your private email but couldn't.. I am Anne Patrick Major. I am guessing you are Juney's son. Juney and I were born together almost. We are related through the Dean's but never found the Major connection. Epps Major is ( I think) my Major Family. He was the son of John Major and Martha Epps Major. This has not been proven. His brothers would be John Perry and James. I can send you what I have. So delighted to see your name. I love your family. Not all of the Howell families in Monroe Co., MS were from SC. There is a completely different Howell family in Monroe County. This is the family of Lewis Howell. Lewis Howell was the son of John Howell 1754-1843 in Wayne Co., NC. So far, they are not related to the SC Howell family. I'm seeking information about Daniel and Edith Parker who lived on Beaverdam Creek in what was then Pendleton District, SC (present-day Anderson County) in the 1790s. The 1963 annotated 1800 census of the county mentions David and John Parker of the same neighborhood with the note that they moved to Pendleton District about 1790 from one of the other counties of this corner of SC. The only record I can find about Daniel here is the court record of his horse theft trials and his jail break in April 1798 after which he left his wife and children and fled to parts unknown. We always hear that if we pursue genealogy long enough we will eventually discover one of our ancestors was a horse thief. Guess what? That's right! Can anybody help this descendant of a horse thief?
