I'm seeking more about my 3rd greatgrandmother. She was Elizabeth Seawright(I guess middle name began with T.) all I know about her is that she married Thomas Dean of Anderson County(Starr area-Dean Station) about 1821, as his second wife. She is buried Starr Baptist (Crossroads) Church next to Thomas, tombstone reads "In memory to Elizabeth T. Dean consort of Thomas Dean born, April 8th, 1795 died October 10th, 1865, aged 70 years 6 months and 2 days." Elizabeth and Thomas's children were Samuel Augustus Dean m. Lucy Dean, Mary Jane Dean m. Jackson Hall, Elizabeth Dean m. William Jones, and Thomas Dean Jr. m. Anne Poore. After her husband died she continued to live in Anderson 1860 census with another relative in her household. Elizabeth Dean 66 real estate $16,000 b.SC Mary Seawright 50 b. SC I have checked Threads of Ancestors. I can't get a lead on her there. Maybe she is from other Seawright family in Anderson?? Thanks for any leads you can offer. Beverly Dean Peoples

Hello, Went to Anderson on July 20, 2000 and found the Smith Methodist Chapel # 2 Cemetery. William Elrod was listed as a trustee of this church when land was given for the cemetery. I did not find a tombstone with his name. The cemetery is in the middle of a cow pasture. The owner of the land has not taken any pains to take care of the cemetery. It is in sad shape. Headstones are broken, knocked over or buried under. I remember seeing Duncans, McPhails and Smiths there. My William Elrod was a trustee in the 1830s. Any information about the Elrods in this area will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. A. I'm sorry I don't have the book but it does sound like a wonderful find for the Fowler family. Maybe you can check out the Libraries and you can get one on loan to your local library. Good Hunting...Bernice
Hi Faye, what type document do you have ref.SNOWHILL ,there was a Methodist Church (SNOWHILL METHODIST CHURCH ) located at the Schackelburg road location. It was disbanded late 1800's or early 1900's.Not much in about it.I have a list of the people buried there including the two families of ELRODS.I will get the information on the site soon as I can,I did not know there was so much interest in SNOWHILL.I have the land owners permission to look around the graveyard when the weather permits.Keep in touch as I will to all interested parties.take care,Joe ----- Original Message ----- From: jp55 <jp55@wt.net> To: <SCANDERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2001 9:35 PM Subject: [SCANDERS] Snowhill > I have a document dated Sept. 9, 1786, SNOWHILL. in S.C.
