    3. Posted on: Anderson County, SC Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Anderson/11965 Surname: McClellan, Cummins, Gambrell, Stone ------------------------- Hello Joyce, Even thought my mom is a McClellan and I can take her direct line back to the early 1800's, it's also the line with holes large enough to walk an elephant through! I do not have a direct relation to any David McClellan, only Jonathan Dial McClellan, Sr & his children. I have a number of McClellan families that I cannot connect in any way at the moment, although I'm sure they connect somehow. these are the only two Davids I have: 8-28-1850 Anderson Census Pg 197 **David McClellan age 53 b. 1797 Mary age 52 b. 1798 William C. age 18 b 1832 Samuel age 15 b. 1835 Sarah E. age 13 b. 1837 **David R. age 11 b. 1839 Mary J. age 9 b. 1841 I also have in 8-27-1860 Abbeville Census pg 95B Samuel McClellan age 35 Rebecca age 30 Rebecca age 6 Elizabeth E. age 3 **Infant age 1 month** *** The best thing to do is write the County Vital records office where he died for his death certificate. It will list the names of his parents and where he was born & place of burial. Cost is $12 per request. My Anderson County requests were filled & returned in 3 days! And were a tremendous help! Death Records between 1915(Records required) & 1951 (50 year limit)is public record, and are kept in the counties they die in as well as the state records... counties move quicker than the state! Good Luck!
