Hi Brian, I may be able to help, but need more information. Do you have given names for any of the Moores involved? Any idea who lived there prior to Jesse Adkins? If you live in Anderson Co., you could go to the courthouse and trace ownership of the land backward from J. Adkins. Hello Researchers, I have recently been speaking to a young boyscout who is very interested in the old Concord cemetery. I thought that Concord Baptist owned the land but we have discovered that it reverted back to the Moorehead family. Is this the family of John W. Moorehead who married Francis McConnell who was the daughter of Ebenezer McConnell and Roena Hasseltine McCoy? If so, these people are in my line but I have very little information to give him. Can anyone help? He would like to know who owns the land the cemetery is now on. He is wanting permission to clean up and "categorize"the cemetery. He attends church was originally on the site where Concord Baptist church is. Our church is celebrating its 100 year anniversary and there is a cemetery across the street from Concord Baptist that may have had some of the old members buried there. Thanks for any help, Cindy

Dear Kim, Thank you so very much. This is a perfect example of the kind of information that I am looking for. I would never have found Shadrack as a witness in a will in the will book index. Shadrack must have been a close associate of John Mills to witness his will. There could possible even be a family connection with Shadrack's wife. Now to research it. I was already familiar with his being a delegate from Hopewell. I should explain to all that I, and a number of others, have exhausted the research of Shadrack Wilbanks in any records in all of the counties identified in the brief biography I sent. He doesn't appear in the indexes of probate books, court records, land records, etc. But remember that indexes only identify the primary people involved. In other words, if Shadrack was a witness to a will, or bought items from an estate sale, or was a juror in court, or his land is identified in the deed of a neighbor, then he wouldn't appear in the indexes. That is where I am soliciting the help of others, particularly researchers of the families of Shadrack's neighbors. I can't research and read every single record in the counties identified looking for Shadrack to possibly appear as a witness, neighbor, associate, etc. I'm hoping that a number of genealogist's out there may have already stumbled upon him in records regarding their ancestors. For example, we know that Shadrack owned land in Pendleton District and Anderson County. Yet, Shadrack rarely appears in records outright. He must appear in records indirectly. It was during this time that he married secondly to Jane. Jane may have been the daughter of a neighbor of Shadrack's. If I knew who these neighbors were, perhaps I can identify Jane's maiden name. If anybody happens to find Shadrack Wilbanks mentioned in any records of Union, Spartanburg, Laurens, Pendleton, Pickens, and Anderson Counties, South Carolina, or in Dekalb and Marshall Counties, Alabama, no matter how apparently insignificant, please, please, please let me know. I thank you all greatly for your patience in reading my posting. Most Sincerely, Robert M. Wilbanks IV Scottsdale, Arizona kim wrote: > > John Mills. Wife: Elizabeth Mills. Sons: none named.
