    3. Glen, There are no Drummonds in the 1850 Anderson Dist. SC census, but this Juliet Drummond shows up in the slave court records: Anderson District Court of Magistrates and Freeholders, #241, 4 Sep. 1851, Mrs. Adams' Dick, Felony [Miss Juliet Drummond's gold watch and chain from house of Fleetwood Rice, Anderson C.H.]; guilty, 39 lashes and jail. Yours, Kim

    2. Glen D. Drummond, Jr.
    3. Hello, I am researching the Drummond family of South Carolina from the late 1790s up to 1835. Two of my fifth great-grandfathers, Henry Drummond of Ireland and David Melton of NC, are on the 1820 Pendleton Dist. census. Henry's son (Joseph Berry Drummond b: 1817-20? in SC) and David's daughter (C. Elenor Melton b: 1820-23? in SC) married in 1843 in Cass County, Georgia. I have also just learned this from the "South Carolina Naturalizations, 1783-1850": "S.C. Pendleton District. Petition of Daniel Drummond, a native of the county of Antrim in Ireland, has been a resident in the U. S. A. 15 years, and the whole time in this state ... October 26, 1813." Henry was born in Ireland around 1793 and could be a son of this Daniel. I invite you to please check out my site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gdrummondjr/index.html It has a lot of info on the Drummonds and many other surnames especially those from the Orangeburg Dist. If anyone has any info on the Drummonds or Meltons I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Glen

Not sure about that. However he and his wife Mary Vance of Abbeville were parents of John(my father) born in 1896; Ike Evans, and Jessie Evans. He married two other women after being married to Mary. The children are deceased as of now, with Ike the last one of the three. He died in the 1990s. Yet, I cannot find descendants of this family of Evans who are African American, and I need to do so because I am working on a family tree and need to find them so I know them. Thank you Joseph

    3. 1830 Anderson Co. SC census, p. 150: 22. John Carder 23. Henderson Elliott 24. William Rodgers Jr, male 30-40 25. John P. Knop 26. Phillip Knop ---------- >I am researching the Knop family. James F. Knop is my great great grandfather. I had copied the census records from Heard County, Georgia also. As you probably know, the dwelling nos are 26 and 27. I think John could have been the father of James F. Knop. James is listed in the 1850 census records of Randolph County, Alabama. Jane was his first wife. By 1870 he was married to Amanda a/k/a Mandy. My great grandfather, Andrew J., is not listed until the 1880 Census in Randolph County. I did not find James F. listed on the 1900 census. I think he must have died between 1881-1899. Andrew J. moved up to DeKalb County, Alabama and was listed on the 1900 census.
