Cindy, I found them totally unreadable. Unless they can be enlarged on the site, they will have to be downloaded to each individuals computer and enlarged from there. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2333.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear John: We are definitely "singing out of the same Hymnal", and strange that you would say that because this Dickinson/Dickerson family has more Methodist Preachers in it than my Matthews family, and that's a bunch! However, I must caution you that much information on the LDS Site (and others) is not accurate, has not been verified, or is just plain wrong, and you must be very careful not to get started down a wrong path. I am in the midst of trying to untangle the Dickinsons without very much success, which is why I posted the Query. I have run across the Internet information of Robert who married Rebecca Jones before, and as far as I know this Rebecca's only husband was Rev. Willis Dickinson (Dickerson), born 1781 in Moore County NC. Their children, as shown on the 1850 Benton (Calhoun) Co. AL Census were : Rachel, b. 1814, SC; Andrew, b. 1819 in SC; Nancy A. b. 1822, SC; Lucinda "Sally" b. 1825 SC (married a Keith); Maria (Mariah?), b. 1828; Lewis b. 1832. Rev. Willis may have had sons William and Robert who had left home. Another Willis is known to have gone to MS. He married Elizabeth Ledbetter in MS in 1815. I would like to help you as much as I can on the Original Moor! e County family with what I know about the family as they migrated, but with the understanding that I need to stick to unravelling my problem. Lets continue this "off forum" if you don't mind. contact me first at [email protected], and we will go from there. regards, F. C. Jones

Surnames: Dickinson, Robinson, Alford, Forbes--- Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hcB.2ACE/2333.1 Message Board Post: Mr. Jones: I am quite interested in the Dickinson (variant spellings) family of Anderson District who seem to have come there from Moore County, N.C. I just recently discovered information of this sort on the Mormon site what with a string of Robert Dickinsons back to 1700. I notice the Robert Dickinson who was apparently the father of my Robert Dickinson was married to a Rebecca Jones. My Robert Dickinson was born ca 1811 and married Mary Emily Robinson. Their son Ephraim Robinson Dickinson who was born 1844 Anderson District, married Sarah Ann Elizabeth Alford 1866 Hart County, GA, moved to Prentiss County, Mississippi ca 1869. There they bore and reared a quite large family including my grandmother Daisy Dickinson b. 1877 and died 1957 same county. I knew her and her sister Ivy and brother Carl very well. The eldest brother Charles Robert Dickinson had moved from MS to Deming, NM about 1906 or so and reared a good sized family there. I am in touch with one of his great-grand daughters, Judy Keeler. Are we singing out of the same hymnal as far as Dickinsons go? I would very much like to correspond with you on these and related SC families. E.R. Dickinson had a slightly older brother Willis A. Dickinson. They were enumerated together in the 1880 Census, Prentiss County, (Under the spelling "Dickerson")MS. Both men fought in the CW in the 37th Battallion, Virginia Cavalry, Company B. and were parolled at Appomattox Courthouse in 1865. Very truly yours, John O. Bronson

I have been looking for the maiden name of Asenith for over 20 years and just found her a couple of weeks ago. As far as Asbury is concerned, I have yet to find his parents. I do not have a Charles in my record. Stephen H. is Stephen Hampton Stone b. 1841. He married Nancy ?? and had 2 children that I have, John and Cora. The Milton Wilson you have is my great grandfather. These are the Stones in Anderson that I have gleaned. I do not have any from 1850. As far as Asbury, who knows where he is buried and his parents...... Joy
Kim, I really appreciate your response. The dates for Stephen Humphrey Stone are correct. He is buried in Macedonia Church Cem., Telfair Co., GA. His grave has the CSA emblem and info. Next to his grave is an unmarked grave that we suspect is his wife's grave, but I have no proof. I had his parents as Charlie S. Stone and Asenith "Annie" L. Massey, so I do not know about Asbury "Berry" Stone, who you listed as his father. But, it does seem to apply since Charlie has a brother with that identical name. What was your source? My source was simply family information, which could be wrong. I do have Charlie S. Stone with a brother, Hap Stone or I should say Asberry Hamp Stone. I have more info on the Pearman family that I got from a book on the Mitchell-Pearman families. Other related lines: 1. Parents of Asenith "Annie" L. Massey: Laban Massey and Easter Greer. 2. Laban's parents: Noel Posey Massey and Lucinda unknown. My other Anderson lines: Jones: Richard Turpin Jones m. Margaret "Maggie" Alsippa Stone. My grandmother, Mamie Edna Jones, is their daughter. This family includes the Dean line from Starr area. Both Richard and Maggie are related to the Dean family. They are third cousins through the Dean line. McGregor and Pearman lines: Drucilla A. McGregor m. Benjamin J. Pearman Shirley: Letitia "Letty" Shirley m. Hi Betsy, J. D. King's title was not honorary. Prior to the Civil War (contrary to what some people claim) it is almost impossible to find honorary titles in SC. He was an antebellum militia officer, elected by his men. J. D. King was a prominant man in the White Plains neighborhood, where he was elected militia officer and deacon. He was also named to serve on important committees for religious and secular reasons. Yours, Kim >My great-great-grandfather was John Daniel King, born 1 Aug 1813 in >Pendleton. He died 30 Nov 1879 and is buried at the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery on >Highway 29 in Anderson County, S,C, >His wife was Hannah Richardson. Just for fun I typed in Charles Stone--nothing. But, try Asenath. She's living with her daughter and son-in-law in Martin Township. And, there's another Stone almost next door...maybe another sibling?
