I'm looking for the origins of my g-g-g-g-g grandfather, William Alexander Jones b 1760 d 1846 in Anderson District, South Carolina. He had a first wife (no children) and later married an Anna Estes, d 1847. He and Anna had 7 children including Wilson (my link) b 2 Oct 1805, Hampton Riley, A. Joshua, William, Elizabeth, Polly, and Tempie. He was in Anderson county for sure by 1825, when he purchased 1000 acres of land, however, I can find absolutely nothing on his or his wifes origins, aside from pure speculation. Any help would be most appreciated!

I am looking for information on Antioch, a Campbellite church active in Anderson District circa 1830-1840. Where was it located? (It was likely located near Samuel G. Earle's place at Evergreen.) Does anyone out there have ancestors who were members? Is there a cemetery? [email protected]

Dear Cindy, I am not an expert on the Chandler line I just know a little but we Have a connection. For example one of the girls were named Mary Chandler Major. I've been looking mainly in the 1700-1800 time frame. When you get back to southside Virginia you might transition to New Kent Co., Va. That is where some of them came from. You should explore the Chandler Family association. I don't know to much about it but there is one. Also it is said that William Major married a Chandler. I think the connection is in southside Virginia and around Wilkes Co., NC. A lot of people have trouble with my e-mail you have to use an underline _ between Herb and 316. In some cases this will be obscured by an underline of the address. God Bless. HerbHendricks [email protected]
Herb, This would not be my husbands line. I have not been doing his line for long but I have got to the mid 1860's. So far all of his Chandlers and most of the Cokers are found in WarePlace in Greenville. His line would include James Riley Chandler, John Arch Chandler. Do those names ring a bell? I do not know why it is so hard to send an email to you when I include your email. But I have to delete your email with all the MIME encoding first. I cannot email you directly, my system tells me that I am out of memory yet I can send emails to my address at msn.com with no problems. Not sure what is going on. Cindy

Could you have one of your descendants e-mail me detailed instructions on how to find ya'll? Telling me to simply go up a gated dirt road won't get the job done. Thank you Keith for that tip. I really hope it helps out until we get this census typed out. I'm sorry that viewing has been a hassle for everyone.
