For Your information: Here is some information about an early John Powell who is said to have fought in the Rev. from Edgefield Dist. Maybe he is the father of some of the early Powells born in later 1700s for whom we have no father. The name Ridgon is familiar to me but don't find one in my files. Know I have seen the name in researching some familes. I have an early John R. Powell b. ca 1811 md Susan K. Harris. Don't know what the middle name was, but the author below indicates that the family moved away by 1806, so these later Edgefield Powells may be cousins. I don't know anything about this Powell. Contact Sam for further information.
