Thank you. I've since contacted the Aiken Zoning Division, etc. You know how it is when something eats away at your "craw"? :-) -----Original Message----- From: Lee and Billie Jones <tjones@camden.net> Sent: Jun 21, 2005 8:19 AM To: SCAIKEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SCAIKEN] Re: Millbrook Township, Whiskey Road That intersection of 301 and 19 works with the approximate area on the old township map that I have. However, I cannot find the church or school on my DOT map as that intersection is included in the greater Aiken City area, and the details of churches are not shown in the city areas. Old Ellenton is shown as in the Silverton Dist, which goes along the Barnwell Co. line to the River. Cannot tell where New Ellenton would be, but it would not be in the Old Millbrook Township area. The township runs approximately south east from the area of the above intersection down to the Barnwell Co. line. I looked at the map mentioned in the reply above, and the Millbrook division shown on that map looks like all of south Aiken and more - a really large area. > > Whiskey Road is Highway 19, starting near downtown Aiken and going south to New Ellenton. Old Whiskey Road branches off of Whiskey Road, to the southwest, just as you enter New Ellenton. > > I haven't found a reference to 'Millbrook Township' yet, but there's a pretty concentrated area near the intersection of Hwy 19 (Whiskey Road) with 302 (Pine Log Road). In that area you find Millbrook Baptist Church, Millbrook Elementary School ( where I went), Millbrook Grocery, etc. I'd be willing to bet the township was in that area. > > > ==== SCAIKEN Mailing List ==== > If you wish to unsubscribe from the Aiken Co., SC list, send only the word > UNSUBSCRIBE to SCAIKEN-l-request@rootsweb.com or if you are on the Digest List > to SCAIKEN-d-request@rootsweb.com > > ============================== > Jumpstart your genealogy with OneWorldTree.
