    3. TO-Billie Jones and List Members, Thanks to Billie Jones for posting the South Carolina Death Certificate Information for John M. Carpenter below to the lists in her recent death certificates postings. I deleted the rest of the message because I could not make any connections with those certificates. John M. Carpenter in the DC below has to have been a brother to my great grandfather, Ed Carpenter listed as Edmund on the census and as a grandson of Adam Carpenter and Milly/Matilda _?_ (maybe Sheffield) when the 333 acres of Carpenter land was sold c. 1882 to a Bunyon Norris/Morris. I am seeking the parentage of Sarah Christian b. c. 1815 South Carolina married about 1830-31 to William Carpenter d. after February, 1883. Sarah Christian Carpenter would have been my 2-great grandmother. She probably died in Edgefield or Aiken County, South Carolina, in the area around Trenton or between Trenton and Aiken and Langley, and Vaucluse, South Carolina. She could have even died over in Augusta or in the general Richmond County, area. She is not buried in the Carpenter plot in West View Cemetery in Augusta, Georgia. William and Sarah Christian Carpenter are listed on the 1840, 1850, 1860 Edgefield District Census with a family of children. It seems that they and some other Edgefield people are not on the 1870 census. She is a widow with two single adult sons living with her in 1880. William Carpenter b. c. 1808 apparently died between 1860 and 1880. When my great grandfather, Ed/Edmund/Edward Carpenter, died in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, in 1916, my great grandmother, Emma Frances Whitlock, also said that her husband's parents were William Carpenter and Sarah Christian. It would seem logical that Sarah Christian would fit into the Christian family of early Edgefield District somewhere. So I have death certificates for two of her sons from two states claiming that her maiden name was CHRISTIAN. How some ever, through several years of research I have not been able to fit her into the Christian family of Edgefield District, South Carolina. The only Sarah Christian I found apparently married and died in child birth as proved partly by estate papers and from information from another Christian researcher. The informant on the death certificate for John M. Carpenter is Annie Timmerman. From the census she married Jesse Timmerman. John and Frances Carpenter lived with the Timmermans at Langley in 1910. The Timmermans are buried in the Langley Cemetery. Which of John's daughter's from the 1880 census was this Annie Timmerman? Any assistance with the Christians and Carpenters would be appreciated.
