Regarding Bodie graves in Wagener area of Aiken County, there are several Bodies buried in a private cemetery on Rocky Grove Church Rd. near the town of Salley, SC. Rocky Grove Rd. is off Highway 330 between the towns of Salley and Perry (Wagener is the town past Perry on 330). Bodie names on tombstones include: Arthur Clifton Bodie b 3/23/1898, d 6/15/1899 (s/o J. T. & Annie M. Bodie - might Mary's first name be Annie?) John T. Bodie, b 5/20/1848, d 3/6/1911 Mary Bodie, b 10/27/1846, d 12/19, 1896 (wife of J. T. Bodie) Josiah Bodie, b 10/9/1872, d 8/21/1874 (s/o J. T. & Mary) Nolie Bodie, b 10/24/1904, d 1/15/1906 (d/o J. A. & Hattie Bodie) Rebecca Bodie, b 10/14/1877, d 6/15/1872 (d/o J. T. & Mary) There were two more Bodie graves I didn't record. Also several graves with cement blocks marking head and foot but no info. The cemetery is overgrown and in poor shape. It is a small private cemetery with about 25 gravestones and is located some distance off a paved Rocky Grove Rd. To reach the cemetery one must go down a dirt road that has become overgrown. The property was recently timbered, and the dirt track was no longer passable by car when I was last there June 2005. Other names in cemetery: Axson, Cooper, Smith, Courtney, Williams, Ables. Pat Bonneau Seneca, SC I'm researching the following families: Allison, Axson/Axon, Blume, Bryant/Wright, Champanare, Cook, Cooper, Corbitt, Courtney, DeLoach, Fanning, Fogartie, Gunter, Hill, Hook, Johnson, McColphen, Mills, Pool/Poole, Walker, Watkins, Wells, Whetstone, Williamson and Ellis. Locations: Aiken, Barnwell, Charleston, Edgefield, Lexington, Orangeburg Counties. All in SC.
