The following obit was in "The State" paper, Thursday, May 19, 2005. With the names Craig, Powell, Heath, they just have to connect to the Old Edgefield Dist/Aiken Co. area. I know absolutely nothing about them. Just passing this on in case someone is looking for her. Just let me know if you can attach her to some Craig family and him to a Powell family from the area. Sorry for the duplication, but I don't know if some of the Powell/Craig researchers are on the lists, so I checked my sources for folks attached to the names and sent to the ones I could find. Can't remember what list I see Chapman posts on, but this came to me from the Greenville List yesterday. I don't research them, so far, but I grab at any and all straws I find in various posts, so maybe this will help someone find new contacts and info. For LARRY with thanks for all the help he gives me! Hope this helps you out. I have been working on the death certificates for individuals in the following Ransom Jordan family. The death certificates are posted at the bottom.... I have not yet gotten to the Aiken Co. Cem. books and worked on the Mt. Pleasant or Shiloh cem. records. Larry Scott found Ransom in the 1850 Census in Barnwell Co., SC, fam #1538. Most indicate they were born in Aiken Co, SC, but Aiken was not formed until 1870. They are probably born in Barnwell Co, SC, altho Mary Jordan Cato is the only one that puts her parents birth in Edgefield Dist, SC. Aiken was formed mostly from part of Barnwell, Aiken, with a little bit of Orangeburg and Lexington. So not sure where they were actually born. I have been working with some obits, census records and death certificates trying to understand some discrepancies in records concerning the marriages and family of Jesse L. Couch, son of Alexander Couch and Ella Covar. I have finally decided that he had to have been married twice... 1) Mary M. In working on my Mosley line I have come across a deed where William Mosley/Moseley sold John Cannady 100 acres in Edgefield Dist, SC 1800. Other records I have for 1832/1834 show Mason L Mosley's tract of land inherited from William is bounded on one side by an area marked "Reserved for the heirs of John Kennedy". I would like to contact anyone who might know if this John Cannady married a Mosley girl. All help appreciated, Carolyn Brown

We lived in a trailer park in New Ellenton. I 1 picture of his car. There are people standing in beside the car but the end of the number is partially visible, it is a 2. Thanks, Melinda I sure am sorry but I never could find anything on the races or your Dad. Best of luck
