    3. The following were transcribed from the microfilm collection of Death certificates, 1915 - 1952, located at the Camden Archives & Musuem, Camden, SC I am checking some of them out because I have proven one Rhoden spelling goes back to David Loveless Rotton m. Nancy Smith. All of them may connect to the early Rotton lines, but have not proven it in but one line. Any help would be appreciated. Hope it makes sense. I worked on it over a 3 day period of gathering census records and death cert. Billie Jones Camden, SC tjones@camden.net ---------------------------------------------------------- Rhoden, E. Giddy Swamp township is the one between Tabernacle township and Lexington co, so the family lived in Eastern Edgefield until some of them moved to Langley township, probably to work in the mills, altho the 1910 census records do not show them working in Cotton mill. 1. RHODEN family connections to BURNETT, HARE, EDWARDS
    2. Lee and Billie Jones
    3. A Couple of days ago I posted the following genalogical info. from the obit of Erline Hare Edwards and asked for help. SALUDA -- Erline Hare Edwards, 96, died Sunday, July 29, 2005 in the Saluda Nursing Center. Born in Edgefield Co, the daughter of the later John Kelly and Emmie Rhoden Hare, she was the wife of the late Benjamin Burdette Edwards. She was a graduate of........ Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean E. Mitchell of Columbia, and Mary Ann E. Derrick and Rodney Derrick of Hopkins; a daughter-in-law Laura E. Edwards of Richmond, VA, a brother, Kelly Hare of Saluda, a sister, Inez Cromer of Columbia, eight grandchildren. A son, James K, Edwards, three grandchild, four brothers and two sisters preceded Mrs. Edwards in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at Saluda Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Travis Park Cem. [Ramey Funeral Home in charge] ------------------------------------------ My interest was the Rhoden and Burdette names in the file, as I am a Rotton/Rauton and Burnett family researcher of this area. Several researchers send me information on her parents, and husband. And Dr. Connie McNeill OEDGS stated that she found her parents listed in the obit buried at Philippi Baptist Church Cem, Johnston, Edgefield Co., SC. With the info. from the cem. records that Connie sent, finding Emmie and John Kelly Hare in Philippi, I checked the cem. records and noted an Elijah Rhoden, also buried in Philippi who could be, by dates, Emmie Rhoden Hare's father. So went to the 1900 census records and found them... Seems to fit. Then found the familes in 1880 and could match them to folks in my file already from 1870 census. So here is the family of Emmaline 'Emmie' Rhoden who married John Kelley Hare and had daughter Erline Hare of the obit as I have it. This is how I now have all these folks linked. Let me know if I have made an error in this compilation. I have not looked the HARE family up in the census to try to find the names of the siblings mentioned in the obit who predeceased Erline Hare Edwards. I can send a registry attachment with notes and sources if additional information is wanted to compare data on some of the individual in this family. But alas, I cannot connect them back to my Rautons, altho I see how they all fit with the Burnett's now... This was fun, but I am not connected to this group except way back to an very early Burnett connection of probably: 1 [Thomas BURNETT] b: Abt. 1720 in New Kent Co, VA d: Bef. 1790 in Surry Co., NC . +[Alice CAVE] m: 1746 in St. Paul's Parish, Hanover Co., VA Billie Jones Camden, SC tjones@camden.net
