Can anyone tell me his given name? I suspect it was "Lott", but that may have only been his middle name. Any info about him or his parents would be great. Have Johnson info to exchange.

    2. I have found an engagement announcement for a young lady in 1978 who was supposed to be a granddaughter of "the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bitters". I will send this to you privately. So far, I haven't been able to find an obituary for Kenneth Bitters though. Hope this helps. 3. Kenneth, The Camden Archives & Musuem, 1314 Broad St., Camden, SC 29020 (803-425-6050) has a bunch of books that list soldiers and sailors in various wars. 3. Trying to locate Courtney, Schroder and Leopard descendants from Aiken and possibly Edgefield counties. My husband's link to the Courtney's was through Jessie Leopard Courtney. Jessie was the second wife of Altamont Sanders Courtney. Altamont was born abt. 1827 in Aiken County and died abt. 1908 in Georgia. Jessie was born 1857, d. 1926. Altamont's first wife was Sara Ann Jordan. Altamont and Sara had 8 children: Jessie Lloyd, Samuel E.; Sarah; Lester; Davis B.; Lucy C.; Francis L.; and Florence Allie. Altamont and Jessie's children were: Juanita and Elise. Juanita, b. 1884, d. 1974, Married William Schroder. Elise, b. 1886, d. 1974 married Brooks B. Paige/Page. Juanita and Elise died within two months of each other. My husband, first cousin and I have in our possession many old photos which we think are of these associated families. Some, we have identified, but many are still unidentified. We think that the photos belonged to Juanita and Elise. Hope there are some descendants out there to help us identify these photos. An article ran in the Aiken Standard newspaper on December 6, 2004, along with four of the photos. Vivian Carroll Parkman cpvp@comcast.net

    3. Faye, The Aiken Co formation in 1870 came primarily from Edgefield Co, and Barnwell Co. There were small parts of Lexington and Orangeburg Co. land incorporated into Aiken Co, as well. But never forget to check on Edgefield Co. There are many Youngblood lines from that area. However, I don't recognize the Whitney name. Lots of Whatleys that were there and if I am remembering correctly married into the Youngbloods.
