I found Jessie in the SCDI so its just a matter of getting a copy of his death certificate from Columbia. He was born in 1889 and I find nothing on the 1890 census. In 1900 he is age 11 living with family in Gregg, SC, listed as a nephew to the head of household. Also in this census is his father in the same household, along with brother John Furman Foster (aka: Furman John Roberts or Robertson Foster), and sister Alice. One other brother is Sumpter Daniel Foster. Sumpter was born in 1882 but I don't find him in any documents until 1910. Sumpter owned a Barber Shop at Schultz Hill, SC (near Augusta, GA/North Augusta, SC). Jessie is also listed as a barber. When I can get up to Aiken County again I hope to find an obituary for him. Thanks again for your reply. Richard Johnson Moncks Corner, SC I tried looking for an obit for you on Jessie Foster through the Augusta Chronicle online but had no hits. It could be that the paper the obit was in has not yet been scanned and loaded or it could be that his obit was in the Herald. I will try to check the microfilm for you sometime next week when I can get to the Augusta Library. Good luck! Yvonne

I transcribed the following death cert. today at the Camden Archives & Museum and am sharing: Some items are very difficult to read. Remember.... the ONLY thing that is primary documentation from the death cert. is the Death date and cause of death filled in by the Dr. All other info. is provided by an informant who may or may not know all the facts, such as the names of parents if they have been dead for a long time.
