There are about 75 or more boxes of envelopes. Guardianship papers, equity settlements, arrest warrants, Equity bonds, etc. Every time I go over and begin to help I am amazed at what we have. When we have all the papers opened, catalogued and make a final assessment, we have to decide how to preserve the documents and make them available to everyone. That will involve microfilming and then they will be available. Each box contains about 100 or more envelopes. So this is truly a monumental task. And we only have volunteers. But it will get done, somehow someway And the documents and the microfilm will then be available at the D A Tompkins library and the Archives in Edgefield. I will try to keep all informed as to the progress. We hope to apply for grants to help with this task. But for now, are being especially careful of who works with the documents. As all can understand.
