I too have a Dunlap line of James Sanford Dunlap and son Alexander Simpson Dunlap.Alex was born in Laurens SC in 1809 and married in Bibb Co,AL in 1833, died in Monroe Co Arkansas in 1866 having narrowly missed the slaughter there.His sister Nancy Dunlap also married into my line when she married as his second wife, Andrew Shular Green in 1846 Shelby Co AL.
