    2. Page 17 Sept 20th 1782 RICHARD BARKSDALE and PATTY SHARP (alias CARTER) took a citation on estate of ROBERT CARTER, late of 96 District, deceased, as next of kin. Sept 25th Mr. THOMAS CARTER enters a caveat that no letters of administration be granted until he can have a hearing as the deceased ROBERT CARTER left a last Will and Testament. (No mention of this will found in Houston's S.C. COUNTY WILLS). Page 31 Sept 25th 1786. JOHN SHARP and PATTY his wife took a citation (from JOHN THOMAS, Esq. Ordinary of 96 District) on the estate of ROBERT CARTER, late of said District, deceased, as next of kin. The same certified by Revd. ROBERT MECKLEN was read and published after divine Service 27th Sept 1786. The Kindred and Creditors to appear before PATRICK CALHOUN, Esqr. on the third Saturday in October, then next to shaow cause if any they have why the said administration should not be granted. The said Citation being returned to me as directed and no person appearing to make any objection nor no will produced nor known of in being upon oath, the said JOHN SHARP and PATTY his wife qualified. Bond L2000 current money of South Carolina. Securities JOSEPH CALHOUN and GEORGE CRASSWELL, freeholders. Dedimus from JOHN THOMAS, Esqr. ordianary dated 25 Sept 1786 to me directed, do grant JOHN SHARP and PATTY his wife, as next of kin to the said deceased, Letters of Administration and warrant of appraisement, also qualified WILLIAM CLARK, JOSEPH CALHOUN and GEORGE CRASSWELL and ROBERT PATTERSON, freeholders apparaisers. Certified this 21st day of October A.D. Long Canes in 96 District. PAT. CALHOUN, Surrogate. N.B. the whole proceeding to be returned to JOHN THOMAS Esqr. Ordinary to be recorded.
