There are many entries for Sample - first names include: Alcey, Alexander (many entries), Barbary, Catherine, Daniel, Daniel B., Frances (Francis), Isaac, James, Jamimie, John, John, Sr., John B., John H., John N., Louisa, Melissa A., Permelia, Robert, Rosanna, Sarah, Susannah C., Washington, and William. Many of these have several entries. Also, the book South Carolina Marriages, Holcomb lists Maria Dorothea Sampel and Peggy Sample. Also, Alley Semple and William Semple (maybe should be Sample?). Also, the book 7500 Marriages from 96 & Abbeville District, SC 1774-1890, Pursley lists the following Samples: Emily, Jemima, Louisa, Mary, Melissa, Pamela, Permelia, Polly, S. Hattie, Sarah, Susan Brightman, John Blain, John Blain, Jr., John, William. No Samples found in South Carolina Marriages, 1800-1820, Holcomb.
