I'm not (to the best of my knowledge, although can never tell on some of those female lines I haven't finished tracing) related to the Swancey/Swanzy family. The location of Michael Blain's property (according to George Watt's pension file is): …About the last December of the same year [1782] or first of January in the year [1783] following…applicant under command of said Captain Maxwell marched by order of said General Pickens to Michael Blains the place of rendezvous about a mile and a half from Swanzey’s ferry on Saluda River where they remained under said captain guarding the frontiers of South Carolina against the Indians and Tories until about the tenth of March 1783 when the applicant was discharged at said Michael Blain’s by said Captain Maxwell. Mill's atlas does include Swancey's ferry on both the Abbeville and the Laurens county maps. It can also be found on one of the maps in Margaret Watson's Greenwood County Sketchs. -vicki
