Cannot find him on 1850, 60, 70. His wife was Sallie Davis and she applied for a Confederate Widow's Pension. I have ordered his civil war service records. He entered at age 50 in 1861 and received a disability discharge in 1863. They believe his middle name was Wesley. Gleanings from the census: b. SC for John and Sallie as were their parents. John was married twice with Sallie as the 2nd wife and they were married for 36 years. We do not know first wife or first children. Sallie had 8 children and 4 were living in 1910. GA Aug 1890 Son Richard b. 8 Mar 1878 - d. 16 May 1934. Buried at Old Silverbrook with his wife Lou Anna Evans Medlock b. 15 Dec 1878 GA - d. 10 Jan 1947 Anderson. She was the daughter of Bedford and Fannie Holmes Evans b. GA . WW1 Draft registration Richard was 41 and he gave his birth as 8 Mar 1877. Wife Luanna. He worked in the Cotton Mill. 1920 HH shows Richard at 42, Lou Anna 39, daughter Fannie 14 b. GA, Nellie M. 7 b. SC, Mother Sallie 80 and widowed, uncle William Davis 65 and widowed, Daughter in law Florrie Medlock 16 b.SC. 1930 HH has Dick at 52, Luanna 47, daughter Nellie 17. They lived at 20 Harris Street, Orr Mill Village. He was 21 and she 15 at marriage. CAN ANYONE SHED ANY LIGHT ON THE OTHER CHILDREN LISTED AND WHO MAY HAVE BEEN THE FIRST WIFE AND CHILDREN OF JOHN W?
